Artwork Description- Platypus holds a significance of what is known to the rainforest people (The Bama). The rainforest people ( The Bama) holds many stories to one another tribes. These day’s many Indigenous People display the platypus in their artwork, as well as body art for traditional dancing.
Indigenous art is centred on story telling. It is used in the dreamtime to carry on knowledge of the land and sea, events and beliefs of the Aboriginal people. The use of symbols is an alternate way to writing down stories of cultural significance, teaching survival and use of the land.
